A must-see in Verbania are the Villa Taranto Gardens located in the lovely resort of Pallanza.
This is a very interesting excursion for garden lovers but also for common visitors to lake Maggiore. They were established in a beautiful setting and offer thousands of species and varietes of plants, trees and flowers imported her by a Scotsman called Neil McEachern. Everything started in 1931 and lasted for about 30 years, allowing visitors today to discover a huge heritage. The stroll through the gardens usually requires a couple of hours ( more or less, it also depends on the interest) and is well woth it.
